SOLD OUT - Lunch, Learn and Holiday Party - SOLD OUT Wednesday, Dec 07 11:15PM - Wednesday, Dec 07, 2016 02:15PM

SOLD OUT Our annual Holiday lunch will be a fun-filled chance to interact with other members of the Association at the beautiful Union League in Center City Phila. Given the elegant location of the event, our speaker will be giving an appropriate presentation on the Art of Etiquette. Have you ever thought about the impression you make on others? Learn to present yourself with confidence and authority because research shows that 93% of what someone remembers after meeting you for the first time is how you looked and how you behaved, only 7% is content or what you had to say. Today in the fiercely competitive business arenas, etiquette is simply another tool you need. While etiquette alone won’t get you anywhere, it will give you that extra edge that will make the difference between you and another person who is just as smart.

Chester County Food Bank is the central hunger relief organization serving more than 120 partner agencies in Chester County, PA. Through a network of food cupboards, hot meal sites, shelters and other social service organizations, they distribute over 2.5 million pounds to our neighbors with limited or uncertain access to adequate food. Norman Horn and Anne Shuniak will give a brief overview of the Chester County Food Bank and how they mobilize the community to ensure access to real, healthy food for all. They will discuss their fundraising efforts to raise $2.5 million annually for operations and how they engage the community from corporations to individuals to get involved from hosting food drives to volunteering to giving of funds. After lunch and the presentation we will volunteer by helping to pack Thanksgiving boxes for seniors. Please bring a food donation item - ideal offering would be a frozen turkey or turkey breast, but any other food item that would be appropriate for Thanksgiving would be appreciated. Lunch will be provided. PLEASE NOTE: After the presentation, a limited number of 20 individuals from PAFP will be offered the opportunity to pack Thanksgiving boxes for senior citizens in Chester County. If you have the time to stay and help pack these boxes (we expect the packing to last until about 4PM), please click on the link below to register. LUNCH & LEARN - Treasury Management in the Gaming Industry Wednesday, Jun 08 11:30PM - Wednesday, Jun 08, 2016 01:30PM

Have you ever wondered if managing the day-to-day finances of a casino is any different than managing the day-to-day finances of a manufacturing or services industry company? If so, come and hear Keith talk about the challenges and opportunities he faces in running the financial aspects of the hotel and casino. Keith, whose previous experience was limited to the hotel industry, will talk about some new and exciting challenges that he faced when taking on the financial responsibly of a casino. For example, how do you handle your forecasting when you may have one of the busiest days in your history but end in the negative because of a large win? Or, how can you close on new credit facilities but not be able to open an account until lengthy compliance verification procedures are completed? What type of services are offered by banks to the gaming industry? To hear the answers to these questions, and have the opportunity to find out more about this unique industry, plan to attend the meeting on June 8th from 11:30 - 1:30 at the Valley Forge Casino.

What Happens AFTER a Cyber Attack? Protecting an Organization's Working Capital, Reputation, and Business Continuity - Cyber Liability Update Breakfast Meeting - Temple University Wednesday, Mar 16 07:30AM - Wednesday, Mar 16, 2016 09:15AM

In today's business world, Treasury personnel are on the front lines of guarding their company's cash against multiple cyber threats. In the AFP survey done at the annual 2015 conference, treasury professionals identified increased exposure to Risk and Cybersecurity breaches as top concerns. Why is this? As the AFP states in their CTP materials, Treasury has increased its reliance on technology thereby increasing its organization's operational risk and cyber exposure. In addition, businesses are being attacked by email scams appearing to come from high level company managers, instructing that urgent (fraudulent) wires be sent. While following all the rules of how to manage cyber breaches, breaches happen!  Next steps are critical in protecting an organization's working capital, reputation and business continuity. Lisa Zimmaro, Esq., Assistant Vice President Risk Management and Treasury and Larry Brandolph, Associate Vice President Computer Services Infrastructure, Operations and Chief Information Security Officer of Temple University will discuss in-depth why cyber breaches are critical risk exposures, why cyber insurance coverage may be of interest to your company and understanding the coverage and exclusions, who to contact immediately if you suspect you have been a victim of a security breach, and who your other partners should be.

Topic: The Fate of Unclaimed Property Estimation Catered by Pudges SNOW DATE: 2/16 Estimation of unclaimed property liability by states has been a key driver of large assessments. However, the methodology employed by states and third-party contingency audit firms engaged by the states for these estimations are rife with interpretations and assumptions. Understand how unclaimed property estimations are computed; recognize assumptions on which such estimations are based; and identify ways to defend against estimations. We will also discuss how estimation might change in future audits and best practices with respect to implementing effective compliance strategies.
